Its going to be at around 7pm on Saturday...

I'm 21 years old and the people coming over are between 20 & 30 years old. (young 30's)

I'm going to set out a platter with cheese and crackers

And I was going to make a dip for chips/crackers (its a buffalo chicken dip, w/out the chicken..it just tastes like hot wings..its very yummy)..

I was also going to have some sweet snacks out (brownies)

Should I have actual food? I was thinking of ordering a few pizza's

Or is snack food enough?

Is the munchie food enough? Or should I also get a veggie or fruit platter?

  1. i would have a few more apps. Maybe some hot appetizers like wings or cut up a calzone or finger sandwich platter you can order from a deli. a veggie platter would be good too.

you can usually order platters with apps or finger foods from a grocery store or deli.

a full meal isnt necessary since most would have already eaten dinner, but if there will be drinking, people will prob want some food to eat.

  2. The munchie thing is a good idea, you should have a little bit more though. A veggie tray and maybe another dip.

  3. Based on the time you said you  are having it (7pm), I would assume that everybody would have already eaten dinner.

Therefore, I would serve what you had listed, cheese & crackers, chips & dip, etc. You can even go to BJ's or Sam's Club and see what they have for frozen appetizers that can be heated up rather quickly.

  4. I would do a veggie and dip tray and a fruit bowl.

  5. It really depends on the expectations you have set for the party.  If it is an "open house" type thing - I'd love you to drop over Saturday evening between 7 and 12, come anytime - then snack foods are enough.  If the expectation is more - I'd love you to come to a party Saturady at 7:00 - then more substantial eats are required.

I like to offer a complete balanced meal even if it is delivered as snack type dishes.  That implies a veggie platter and/or fruit.

    Hope it goes well.

  6. you could have snacks that are not actually dinner but can be a little filling.  i think if you are not making dinner the veggie & fruit trays are good & also other variety of dips & salsas. you could also serve nachos. & mabye potato chips  & other kinds of chips
