spring, northern italy is beautiful then, and if you are a girl then the new fashions are out plus last season clothes are sold off!

I would say during the spring or summer.  I was in Italy back in 99 from June to October but I was at San Vito near Brindisi at the bottom of the "heel" and it was nice weather.  But I think it all depends on your weather preference...  I would say google it or look it up in Yahoo.  Have fun, I loved Italy when I was there, I plan to go back one day.
