I'll be working with around 5000 to 7000 dollars to cover the whole trip for me and my girlfriend. I want to know of some fun but inexpensive attractions that we should visit. thanks for any suggestions.

  1. How long are you in tokyo for?

There are the usual things like asakusa, shibuya, shinjuku, akihabara, imperial palace etc. etc. Get a good guide book it'll list them all.

Good side trips if you are there for 2 weeks or more. Hakone, Nikko, rent a car and go out to the Izu islands.

  2. Tokyo is the most expensive city in Japan, but there is many intersting things. Odaibaお台場,Tokyo tower, Harajuku, Desney land and Desney Sea. and Japanaese food is so good, I suggest kaiten sushi restaurant. It is a sushi bar where customers select their food from a revolving conveyor belt. It is not expensive, and so good.

  3. You really should try and see more of Japan, rather than just Tokyo. I understand the money issue though. It's definatly not cheap! lol If you are a young couple and enjoy the bar scene visit the rupungi district (I may have spelled that wrong) Also try a shabu shabu restaurant. That is my favorite japanese dish. You can go to the Tokyo tower. Hard Rock Cafe, just to get a Tokyo shirt! Shopping is always fun for the girls. They have a lot of good shopping. If you ever go back or get the chance to leave Tokyo on this trip I suggest Kyoto. They have several attractions. You can visit the old temples. One of which is made of gold, another contains 1000 statues of Buddah. I actually witnessed a tradional japanese wedding taking place in a Temple I was viewing. Some parts of town are very rustic and still have brick style roads. It is beautiful! April/May is a good time to go. You get to see the Cherry Blossoms in full blume, and the weather is not too hot or cold. Hope you enjoy it really is a great place.
