  1. try the travel lodges-they will be out of the centre but there will be buses.anything in london centre will be expensive

  2. I'm not sure what you consider "cheap," but there are options in London that may appeal to you and your family.  The Imperial Hotel in Russell Square is rather nice and offers a buffet breakfast.  It is very close to the British Musem and Russell Square tube station, so you can easily get anywhere.  This link is to info on all hotels owned by the Imperial Hotel Company in London:  http://www.imperialhotels.co.uk/default....

I have only stayed at the Russell Square location, but I had a great experience so I would trust the company as a whole.  Rates for their rooms start around 70 pounds (approx. $140) per night.

You and your family may also want to consider staying in a Bed and Breakfast.  London has many budget B&Bs that are clean and offer a nice breakfast which is included in your room tariff.  However if any of you are high maintainence travelers I would not recommend the budget B&B route.  The rooms are clean and the breakfast is nice but most rooms are very small and offer minimal "frills."

My favorite site for B&B shopping in London and all of the UK is http://www.4hotels.co.uk. On this site you can also look for a B&B in a specific region of London and most listings offer starting rate info and a link to the B&Bs website. If you don’t see a link for a B&B you are looking at it’s worth googling the name of the place since the site doesn’t have websites for all of the B&Bs that are on the web.

From personal experience I can recommend the Hotel St. Simeon B&B in Kensington http://www.stsimeon.com/. This B&B had spacious rooms, gorgeous lobby, great breakfasts and was in a really nice area of the city, right off Gloucester Road tube station.

I've also stayed in the Vegas hotel http://www.vegashotel.co.uk/ near Victoria Station. This room was bizarre since you entered through the loo to get to the bed, however, at least it was ensuite, cheap, clean, included breakfast and had a television. That area around and behind Victoria has dozens of similar B&Bs, and the same is true of areas surrounding most of the city's main central train stations, King's cross area has loads, it's not quite as close to the city center but it is close to excellent transportation. Staying near Victoria is a good idea because of all the great transportation connections and it's a safe area.

Rates for these types of B&Bs usually start at around 40 pounds ($80) for a double room. Cheers!

  3. Yeah London is very expensive to stay in. I stayed in a hotel in Paddington pretty close to Hyde Park for around 70Pounds a night, which is probably the cheapest youre gonna get. Cept I dont remember the name of it. Goodluck and have fun!! :)

  4. I found mine through www.ryanair.com, and click hotels
