I've visited Ireland when I was 12 years old, I am irish, and I fell in love with Ireland and didn't want to come home. I'd like to go to college in Ireland. If you live in Ireland, what do you like about it? Is it expensive for an 18-20 year old who's college bound? What is it like on saint patricks day?

  1. The average is about 10000 euro/year, not including the many nights out

  2. College is an institute of education, collage is a kind of picture, see above

It can be expensive if you dont qualifiy for free fees. If your parents or grand parents were irish you could apply for citizinships which would entitle you to free fees and a maintenance grant.

N.U.I. Maynooth is a great university that has strong ties to the USA, trhey run programs every year with notre dame. There are many american students there as well.

N.U.I Galway is quite similar, last year martin sheen was a student .Maynooth and Galway will be great socially.

Rag week is the best thing about uni

I would say that if you want to make friends do not go to UCD, Its to big, all the rugger buggers and paris hilton wanabees driving the car daddy bought them so stuck up their own A R S E S that they dont have a rag week.

There are no frats et al here, however UCD has that feel, believe me if you go there you will hate these people and want to go up to the water tower with a rifle..... well you know the rest.

St patricks day 2008 will be on the 15th of march. It has been changed as it will fall in holy week next year, this means that any parade on the 17th world wide will not be on the official day. If you dont believe me look it up

  3. Dublin is horrendously expensive - fees for college are, in my experience, between 2500-5000 depending on what you want to do and where you do it, rent is anything upwards from around 320 euro per month, although it's probably cheaper if you got accommodation on campus. Add that onto bills, nights out, food, college textbooks and so on, and you're looking at a very large sum of money! I'm 23 now, came to Dublin from another part of Ireland when I was 18 to go to college and I'm in enormous debt now. I'm sure Limerick, Galway etc are cheaper, but I can only speak for Dublin I'm afraid.

  4. its very expensive here, start saving!

  5. well collage accomadation cost between 4000 - 5000 per collage year, then you have to pay collage fees, then school supplies and food.you are looking at least 18,000 euro.
