  1. Probably the most beneficial thing you can do is join the swim team. The hardest part of waterpolo is being able to tread and swim fast back and forth across the pool. Build up your swimming speed and it will be your biggest asset to the team.

  2. I am only eleven and I thought it was really hard @ first but when u play 1 or 2 seasons of it, it becomes really easy!! The best thing u can do is practice outside of practice, work to make your legs and arms stronger and practice swimming. That way it becomes a lot easier. I did the swim team for 8 months and on my second season of water polo i was the fastest swimmer that beat out of all the boys. It would be helpful if u joined the swim team for a season or two, it makes u faster to get down to the end of the pool faster

  3. run...cross-train

  4. keep going at it! I LOVE waterpolo. i have only done it since june, but i like it a lot. you might want to join a swim team, that will improve your stamina, and will get you to swim longer and faster. get a water polo ball, either from BIG 5 or online, and practice throwing and catching it (a medicine ball would also work). lay on your stomach on the floor, with the ball, and practice everything you would normally do in the water, without being in the water. work out at the gym, and work hard to never stop moving. during p. e. at school, don't stop running(if you're one of the people who stop) last year, i couldn't keep up with my friends, because i didn't try and didn't believe in myself. this year, i can keep up, most of the time. because i keep telling myself to keep moving, and that i can do it. i did that, so that i will get used to it, and to be in better shape for water polo. now, in waterpolo, i actually swim  all ten laps without stopping or taking a break. though i am still tired, i keep at it. during scrimmages or games, keep that in your head, and tell yourself to keep going. it really works

  5. Water polo is very hard. I suggest you workout in the gym, swim with a water polo ball, practice trowing and catching a medicine ball, and try to pass a polo ball to a partner. Good luck and have fun!!

  6. Definately do the swim team!  Also do some ab work outs and see if any of the girls will go down to the pool with you and practice... you really dont need a goal (unless your a goalie).  Good luck
