I'm planning on trying out for a club team. what do i need to know?

like what do they do at a tryout? what do i bring? what do i need to know? btw, im trying out for a 15U team. <3

Club volleyball is very competitive, so you should definitely dress like a competitive player. Volleyball shoes, spandex, knee pads are a MUST! Long socks may be going out of style, but I guarantee the coaches judging the tryouts had to wear them when they played, so wearing long sock with your knee pads and spandex will still look professional. Don&#039;t wear a shirt with anything offensive on it either. And tuck it in! I have played volleyball for 12 years, and looking the part will go a long way to distinguishing you from other players.

At the tryout, be sure to run everywhere the coach says to go, don&#039;t look lazy! Always make sure you a low and communicate well, such as calling the ball. Smile, and enjoy yourself! Club volleyball is lots of fun! Good luck!

What position are you trying out for?

I just tried out for Club for my first time, and it was awesome. Lots of girls try out, so try and stand out. Yell and act like you want to be there; be enthusiastic. It helps, trust me. Be aggressive! Call all your balls, and yell yell yell!

At a tryout, it all depends on your position for what they do. I tried out as outside hitter and we did a lot of hitting drills. Right sides do basically the same as Outsides. If you try out for Libero, they will do a bunch of short and long passing drills. Setters will do lots of setting to the outside and middle hitters. Also, they do jump-sets, back-sets, and so on. Middle hitters sometimes work with the setters, but it just depends on what the coaches want.

Bring LOTS LOTS LOTS of water or gatorade!! Some of the tryouts can be 4 hours long and they really work your body! Knee-pads, spandex, loose t-shirt are good to wear, and also wear shoes that were intentionally made for Volleyball if you have some. The shoes help a lot, I think at least.
