My very good friend Frank who owns 3 restaurants in Mainz, Germany has suggested the following restaurants in Mannheim for you.  Frank tells me that these are all great places and has sent me some information about them.  Hope this helps you out.

Bootshaus:under the tv tower

Built over the garage of the Amicitia Rowing Club.  Delicious Salads and Great Meals.  Also has a Sunday Mourning Brunch.

Estragon:Near the Rhine

Beer Garden & Restaurant.  Look on the boards that are everywhere in the restaurant.  They have daily specials on them daily.

Estragon Cafe Brasserie

Quite popular among the locals.  Different menues for lunch.  Additional menu for the Beer Garden.
