  1. I personally do not care for it, i do not like the dish on my house, and the reception in poor weather is questionable.  I am a communication professional and prefer cable over DTV.    In the end its up to you.  If you do not mind experiencing problems when the weather is bad then go ahead a get DTV.

  2. What choice do you have?.Cable?.just pick the one that has your programming. One is as good as the other.

  3. Yes it's worth it to me.  You can get the package that's worth it to you.  I have HD and have never had a reception problem in any clouds, rain, snow, or with snow on the dish.

  4. It is totally worth it go for it!

I have had it for two years and I will never ever go back to Cable.  I have my surround sound system hooked up and I love the fact that every channel is 100% digital Quality.  So when your watching HD you have a 780 on ABC and on every other channel I have 1080.

As with the weather problems  I have only had it go out one time and that was just the HD dish I lost and that was becuase A branch knocked out my HD dish.  I still had the first dish with non HD was still working fine.

Most people with cable loose when a Pole gets hit so I would really let that stop you.

Also the customer service for Directv is the best.  I have called with complaints and they resolve them in a timely manner.

The first problem i had with Directv was that when the sub Contractors came in to install my HD box I asked them nicely to drill a new whole for the HD cable about six inches over. I had my Subwoofer cable (monster) going into my basement and back out to the stereo.

Well they just drilled about 3/4 of inch next to the whole and cut my Monster cable.  So i called and asked them to replace the cable.  The told me the Sub contractor would come out with a new one in two days the guy did come out but had no clue why he was there.

So I called back and they had a Head superizor call me from some other Directv main office and together we just had them Credit my account 150.00 for the cost of the cable and the gas and the tax.
