Find out from Immigration Canada and the school board you want to work for before you come to Canada.  Do you want to work in the Catholic or Public Schools; or was a private school more what you had in mind?  If you want to teach in rural Alberta, be prepared for a split grade classroom, if you want to work in urban Alberta, be prepared to be a substitute teacher on call, because full time jobs are very difficult to get in the cities.  Is the teacher's education you received in the Caribbean recognized in Canada?  You may have to be certified in Canada to teach in Canada.  These and more questions will have to be asked and answered before you can think about applying for primary school teaching jobs in Alberta.  In short - do your homework.
