I'm planning to study abroad in spring 2009. i am deciding between Sydney Australia and somewhere in Italy?

Where do you think i would like better? Fit in better?

Is not knowing the language (italian) going to be hard to communicate and survive in italy?

Any advice on studying abroad?

well, if you dont know the language in italy, then go to sydeny.

I'd say Italy,tour the rest of europe,culture,art,opera etc.And Australia has too many poisonous biting things.

I prefer Italy because you can travel all over Europe when you are there. If you cannot handle the language barrier though - you should stick with Sydney. Both are fun.

Italy will be MUCH MUCH harder to assimilate into...But, I studied abroad in Italy and I can assure you it is the best country and way of life on planet Earth. As for fitting in when I was living over there I embraced the fact that I was different and was widely accepted.plus Italian women are UNBELIEVABLY BEAUTIFUL !

GO TO AUSTRALIA. i went all up and down the east coast of Australia last summer, and had THE TIME OF MY LIFE. there is so much to see there, and the language barrier is obviously not a problem. There is also a lot of interesting history that had happened in Australia, and it's fun to learn about it while you're there. if you go- def. check out the Olympic aquatic center- it was really cool to see where the Olympic swimmers and divers competed in 2000. the people there are so nice, and the weather is amazing. trust me- Australia is THE way to go!!! i can't explain to  you how much fun I had there. = ]

I'd say Italy. Where are you from? I'd guessing English isn't your only language, so wouldn't it be cool to learn a lot of even another language?
