  1. I know what are you going through, however all the bjj schools I went the require some form of contract for the first year, you may get a month to month paying more per month.  I have a lot of injuries often (muscle and ligament tear, sprain) it keept me from going back for months.  I had to pay even without going.

  2. if its for longer than three months I'd avoid it like the plague, if your going to sighn it READ he damb thing from cover to cover and make sure its what you want and make sure the school is where you want to be training for the rest of the year

  3. Contracts are not good.  That usually means that they either have some quality issues or some attitude issues.  Why ever would someone want/expect to be paid for something that they do not deliver on?

We do like to sign up people for Easy Pay, that automatically draws the payment each month.  But this is easily stopped.  We put many people on hold when they go on vacation or school or whatever.  If we do not provide them with quality Kung Fu, or they are no longer enjoying in, then they (and you) should be allowed to leave.

  4. Contracts are bad. You don't want to stick yourself in a bad situation for longer than you want.

  5. Don't sign a contract. I've personally had a bad experience signing a contract with a gym; things ended badly and I had to fork up almost $600.00.
