i got 2 gorgeous mallow hibiscus bushes for my b-day yesterday and am planning on planting them in my yard tomorrow. now here's my plan, i just need someone to fine tune it and make sure i'm doing the right thing. our soil here in the northeast (RI) is very rocky and fine so i was planning on purchasing some bags of peat moss, top soil and mulch. i was going to dig a big hole, mix up the peat moss and topsoil with the soil already in my yard, plant the bushes, cover them up, water them very well and then throw a couple of inches of mulch on top. now i am not a gardener by any means so can someone tell me if this is a good plan?? if you have any additional suggestions, please throw them at me! thanks alot!!

  1. Mallow requires sun and I will go for a loam-based fertile compost rather than peat moss to mix with top soil as the shrubs need good drainage.
