One player is left-handed and obviously weaker than the other who is right handed. Me and my partner are both right handers. Any tips?

Thank you very much

  1. Watch out for Federer's full volley, and as for Martina, remember - she grunts.

  2. Have fun, if you play to win even if you win you'll loose!

  3. one of you always stay at the net and be ready for the ball to move fast. when you get a short ball from the baseline hit it at the opponent at the net.

    good luck!

  4. Personally I play singles then doubles.  I loathe the net lol. However try hitting to their backhands as often as possible( most successful in doubles ) and if both are at net, mix it up  with shots low to their feet and lobs as well. If you are on baseline, when lobbing, try and come in and put next volley away. Also on return on serves, dont always go corss court to the server, once in a while throw in a down  the line shot, to off set the net player and keep him thinking as to what you might do.

  5. throw a bible in their faces!

  6. What are they good at?

What are they not good at? (Remember, everyone has weak point, no one is unbeatable.)

    What are you good at?

What are you not good at?

Compare you and your partner with them, well, they are better than you, but how? In what way? Are they more consistant than you? Or are you more aggresive than you?? Or are they better volleyers than you??... ...

Are they good at coming into the net? How good are they when they have to deal with the overhead lobs? How good are they at on court movement? How good are they at coping with slices and chippings? Where is their weakness?? Where is your weakness??

Study your opponents, my coach once said to me after me losing a match, "She (my opponent) played well today, because you let her to do so."

If your opponent A's back hand is not as good as his forehand, then keep hitting at his backhand, if your opponent B is not very fast when running in, then hit drop shots, short ones, drag him in instead of ralley from baseline against him 100 times.

Brad Guilbert said: "Do you pay attention? Do you know what you should pay attention to? You should pay attention to: "Who is doing what to whom?"...

Yes, there are times when you ( or me or anyone) get completely out-played. But most of time, you lose for you don't fully understand the game, your own game and your opponents' game.

Anyway, don't put too much press on yourself, go out there, well prepared, relaxed, focused and try to play an Intelligent game, even if you lose the match, you will learn alot from it.

P.s. the winners are not always the better players but the smart ones.

    Best of luck.

  7. Don't bother playing

  8. If you're playing against God, I'd let him win :o)

  9. leftie may be weaker, but will be more awkward!  Whenever you play a right-left combo, you will either have two strong fore-hands in the middle (try to get them confused and competing for the ball) or two fore-hands playing each side-line, so PLAY THE MIDDLE AGAIN!

  10. When you play a right and left hander there is on terrific advantage. If you hit down the middle it will be to both their backhands. So hit as much as poss down the middle channel they also will both leave it thinking either one is going to take the ball (corridor of uncertainty)

However a left handed server can create a very wide angled serve

  11. If you want to win, always hit to the weaker player.  If you want to try to improve your game, hit it to the stronger player.  If you want to just have fun, mix it up and just play it equally to both players.  And remember, to win any point against any person or team, you just have to get the ball back over one more time than they do.
