I'm plotting this graph; what should be on the x-axis and what should be on the y-axis (details inside)?

I'm plotting "change in mass (g)" and "percentage (%)" of something.

What should be on the x-axis and y-axis???

  2. Determine what is the cause, and what is the effect.

    The convention is to put the cause on the X-axis and the effect on the Y-axis

  3. the x-axis always has the manipulated variable on it.......

    in other words, the one you yourself change (manipulate)

    the y-axis always has the responding variable on it.....

    that basically means when you change the manipulated variable (on the x-axis), the y-axis has the thing that responds to that change....

    from what it sounds like to me, the "mass" should go on the x-axis and the "percentage" should go on the y-axis

  4. g is in the x-axis since it is independent. % is in the y-axis since it will depend on the value of g

  5. the x axis is where you put the independant variable and the y axis ifs for the dependant variable....which is which?....i would guess change in mass is the independant, so that should go on the x axis and the percentages on the y axis
