  1. I did mine when i was pregnant.. I colored not bleached. nothing happend but I would ask ur doctor.

  2. Yes you can dye your hair the only problem is that your hair might not take to the dye so basically it might be a waste of money but it isn't a risk to you or the baby.

  3. yes , I am 20 weeks pregnant and I just dyed my hair and it came out beautiful

  4. While there are chemicals in the dye, Im sure it isnt harmful, unless of course your allergic.

Since the dye is applied to your hair, and not on your skin ( or ingested ), I dont see how it would harm your child.

If your going to dye your hair on your own, leave the door open so any chemicals or fumes can leave.  Better safe than sorry.

  5. YUP IT IS!! i was stylist for almost 18 years, and new products are just fine for preggers! heh... but... it will probably have somewhat of an 'off' color... hormones can cause variations on hue or tone, even depth......

  6. Highlights are safer but there is no evidence that it causes problems. My really good friend owns her own salon and she just had a baby, well she did!! I asked her about it because I was worried myself but she said highlights were ok but to completely dye is not as safe!! You should be fine but if you are concerned talk to your OB dr.

  7. yes no coal tar in dye these days you and babe will be fine

  8. There are natural dyes based on vegetables, not chemicals.  They are a little more expensive and you can find them in health food stores only, but they are perfectly safe and they do a great job if you follow directions.

  9. I just had foils done n the hairdresser made sure she didnt touch my scalp.. So i guess its safe!

  10. I have read the book Pregnancy for Dummies and it says in there that back in the day it was harmful. However, a lot of the chemicals that were used then are not used today. Go to the salon that use vegetable dyes. This is safe. Hope this helps...

  11. Ask you doctor. I wouldn't risk it.

  12. everything ive read and heard says yes as long as its not like every week - no more than 2-3 times in your entire pregnancy...

  13. yes you can dye your hair.. there has been no study done yet to prove otherwise... my doctor said it was completely safe...

  14. NO dont even risk it

  15. yes you can. It will have no affect on you unless you normally have an allergic reaction, or you constantly stick your nose into the mixture.

  16. During my first pregnancy, I had heard that dying your hair while pregnant can be dangerous. My hairdresser assured me that this was untrue... it may not be "healthy" but that it is not overly harmful. She said that it is really up to the individual whether or not they want to do it though, because as with most things, there ARE chemicals involved in the process. I suppose it is just like passive smoking and such likes.

However, I am now pregnant again and have not worried about the harm of dying my hair this time, since I did not find out that I was pregnant until I was in my second trimester and had already dyed my hair numerous times. My baby is in good health aparently and I have not had any troubles - though she is unborn yet, everything seems to be fine at 35 weeks. I can't imagine it could effect the child all that much, as long as you are in a well ventilated area when you get your hair dyed and are not inhaling too many of the fumes. Besides, you'll feel much better when you get your hair dyed again anyway... it feels so crappy to have roots showing, and you deserve to look your best, especially while you are pregnant!
