  1. No.  There are no incompatibility issues with you two.

The most common one occurs when the mother is Rh- and the father is Rh+, but that isn't the case with you.

Here is a link that gives a little more information about the Rhesus factor during pregnancy:

EDIT:  I am not sure why people are giving thumbs down to correct answers or telling you that you need to have a Rhogam shot if your blood is A+, but I can assure you that isn't the case.  If you have any concerns, place a quick call to the nurse at your OB's office, and she can reassure you.

  2. Ask your doctor.  They test for these things and take care of them right away.

  3. No, there is little concern with the blood differences...the real concern comes into play when the RH factor is either neg/pos... You simply need to pay attention to whether your baby is RH pos versus negative as well as your RH...when one varies from the other...there are times that arise when your baby may show some slight affects...BUT your doctors & medical personnel are well aware of this...You need not to worry...Often times all turns out very well...BUT even IF by chance the RH factors conflict....there is little worry for you....simply trust the medical knowledge surrounding your beautiful moment...Sometimes RH differences result in higher bilirubin OR baby requiring a small blood transfusion to remedy the situation. Please know that this is a small factor for you to be concerned with. IF by chance you are concerned, simply mention to your GYN and they will explain thoroughly. Or you can visit www.webmd.com to try to educate yourself. Best of luck & happiness with your little one...Take care~!

  4. No i just had this discussion with my mother the other night. She told me that she o negative and all her babies were all positive like my father. Which means she had to take a shot.. if the baby doesn't have your type of blood you may need a shot. Not b/c it will hurt the baby but b/c it might prevent future pregnancy down the road if you every want to have children. Just let your doctor know and they will know what to do..if they need to do anything.

  5. No the only time there is a problem with blood type is with the RH factor.  You are A+ so there is no reason for you to worry.

  6. No it should be fine.

  7. I am sure it works the same way, I am O- and my husband is A+, because I am O- I have to get the Rhogam shot at 28 weeks, b/c if my baby has positive blood my body could see this as an invader and attack the baby- resulting in you guessed it a miscarriage, and then I get another one after baby is born. My mom had the same thing happen she is A+ and my dad is O- just like me, so with all three pregnancies my mom had to get this shot. its standard procedure.

  8. It's only a problem if YOUR blood is RH negative.  The doctor will test for this with your early blood work.
