I'm pregnant and had my last period starting May 7th. Just found out yesterday that I'm pregnant. I've been having some on and off tightness/pain in my belly button. It usually goes away. It comes on during stress, or when I cough or when I suddenly stand up. Very nervous, please help!

  1. Wow...you found out ur pregnant at only 2 weeks?

thats kinda early to have found out..

i would go the doc...you should have many symptoms..this early

  2. It is possible that it is round ligament muscle pain caused by the onset of your growing uterus causing some stretching (even if it is early on and the growth is not readily visible). With pregnancy all sorts of odd things go on with your body. You should be concerned if the pain is persistent or unbearable. That being said, at this stage you should have a visit to your OB/GYN or midwife planned and they can help allay some of your fears or discover the cause of your pain. Additionally, sometimes you can ask family members (mom, aunts, sister) if they have expereinced anything similar.

  3. Early in pregnancy, you will feel a lot going on. That's because your body is going through the necessary changes to accomodate your baby. When in doubt, or when your nervous because things don't feel right, you can always call your doctor. Also, I HIGHLY recommend the book 'What to Expect When You're Expecting'. It will tell you everything you need to know as far as what you'll feel at certain points in your pregnancy, what foods/activities to avoid, and what to expect at each doctor's appointment. Congratulations!
