  1. If you have the talent and truly believe in yourself your chances are just as good as any 6-footer.

Examples: Monty Stratton was a major league pitch and he had one leg. Jimmy Stewart portrayed him in "The Monty Stratton Story".

Pete gray was a one-arm outfielder for the St. Louis Browns back in the 1940's.

There was a pitcher with one hand a few years ago but I can't think of his name right now (Abbott- maybe??)

The bottom line is - nothing is impossible. Good Luck.

  2. If you are that short you are in a bad position (especially at certain positions).  You better be a d**n fast, smooth, great fielding, great eyes, great swinging middle infielder (possibly outfielder).  The smallest player in Division I baseball is the SS of the Univ. of Louisville Cardinals.  Look him up his name is Chris Cates.  GREAT player but has to be so much better just to be equal...he too, is also 5'1".  David Eckstein (SS for the St. Louis Cardinals) is something like 5'5" but i dont know to many players shorter that have played professionally, at least not at a high level.

  3. Being small can have it's advantages. You can get under the tag (in a slide situation) and you have a smaller strike range, so you might get walked more often). You can also move more quickly to the bases and to the ball. It's not like basketball or volleyball where height makes such a big difference. Best of luck!

  4. I don't think that you have to a certain size to play if you have to ability to play that is all that matters.

  5. you're going to want to be alot taller so you can rebound, block and dunk
