I'm re-playing Pokemon Blue and noticed that Clefairy keeps trying to evolve without a moonstone. Why?

The first time it evolved was at level 11. But I didn't think it was possible to evolve to Clefable without the moonstone so I turned my Gameboy off and on again. It just tried again at level 24 but I pressed B. Is there a problem with my game? I've had it for years and never noticed a problem (i.e. strange evolutions) when I played it through before.

you had a very lucky glitch those old games are gitchy but the only way to evovle it is so i guess it was aglitch  with a moon stone i guess it was a glitch but a cool one ofcourse well in my eyes

The older games (i.e reb, blue version) were known to be glitchy.  This is in fact a glitch, but apparently a lucky one (depending on your point of view).

But yes, Clefairies were only supposed to evolve when given a moonstone. :)

Glitches can happen at any time, so this glitch is probably about as normal as a glitch can get.

Huh thats really weird i have had the same game for a really long time and that never happened to me... maybe you need to get another copy.. have any other pokemon evolved at the wrong time? Wow thatskinda cool :)
