I'm reading The Bell Jar and I'm relating a lot...?

is that something to worry about?

Like, near the beginning, and the description sounds like she just goes around in a daze, and doesn't seem to have much ambition, and then the baths and the purifying....

I just totally understand exactly what she's talking about and I relate to it all very well, because I do most of that too.

Is that a bad sign about my mental health?

  1. I relate to it as well. Plath is very good at explaining her emotions. However, she was very depressed, so if you always find yourself feeling as she describes, it may be a good idea to see a therapist.

  2. I read "The Bell Jar" several years ago! wow! I should read it again. I think that woman was depressed? correct? If you think you see some of yourself in her, you can tell that to a mental health councilor, and you can discover ways of reshaping your life to be more happy and productive. It can change you know! Get going!

  3. hmm when I close my eyes I can massage my brain, I don't know if its normal or not!
