I'm really dehydrated from yesterday. I feel awful what should I do?

I have been drinking as much water as I can. Is there anything else I can do to help?

  1. Take a steaming bath or if you're feeling that bad try a method which relieves croup - cover your head with a towel and put over a sink filled with steaming water.


  2. Type "homemade pedialyte" into your search engine. It will find you recipes for an electrolyte drink you can make at home with salt, sugar, potassium and bicarbonate. Or you can just go to the pharmacy and buy Pedialyte or Pedialyte popsicles.

  3. Continue to drink water, add some moist foods (but gentle moist foods). Consider adding an electrolyte drink or two (such as Gatorade or Powerade, or even Pedialyte - even though it is for kids, it has less sugar than the commercial sports drinks).

    Bed rest and perhaps a dose of ibuprofen (follow the dosing on the bottle).
