Our school is having volleyball tryouts this saturday. Well, I think it would be fun to play. I'm not skinny, but I'm not that fat. I'm just scared of going and all of these little skinny girls be there and they make fun of me. My thoughts were that I would never know unless I tried, but I don't know if it is such a good idea or not.

My friend told me that the only time really skinny people played volleyball and that was all that they wanted was during beach volleyball, that school volleybally was different. What do you think? Do you think that I should go?

  1. Don't be discouraged by what other people might think. If you go and you make it, good, if not, then it wasn't meant to be for now, and you can try out the next year. It's true that school volleyball is different from beach volleyball, so don't worry so much about the other people, just go, have fun, and be yourself while learning new things about the sport so you can wow them next time with your skills!

  2. Go and play! ok and beach  volleyball players are not that skinny! have you ever been to an AVP tourney? believe me they are not all skinny, they are just in good shape! there are a lot of girls that play volleyball that arent skinny. the media is just brainwashing us all so we think we have to be! Stay the way you are!

  3. It doesn't matter what they think, go for it. Volleyball is a lot of fun.\

And besides- skinny doesn't equal fit :)

  4. Try out and have fun doing it.  Be confident in what you do.  If you make it, keep working hard to improve your skills.  If you don't, keep working hard to improve your skills.  If you don't try out for the team, for sure you won't make it.  Trying out gives you a sense of measure as to where you're at and what you need to work on.  Good luck!

  5. Skinny does not equal to Healthy... definitely not equal to "sporty".

You should go out and show off your volleyball skills.

Volleyball is fun, especially in middle school. It is not so physical as in basketball, as there is no physical contact between you and your opponent.

  6. It doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. What's important is how you see yourself. You should go out there have fun and make the best of it.

If you believe that you can do it, then you can and everybody else's opinion shouldn't matter.

    Good luck!

  7. go there and play ... it doesent matter wat other ppl tell you i mean dont pay attention to them you do what u want ..

    good luck

    =]

  8. So what? Some or most skinny girls may not have a strong hit. Prove to them that your good. I'm short and I thought people would make fun of me because of spiking or whatever, and I ended up getting offered to JV team later on.

If your friends with them it shouldn't be bad. Just have a good time :D

And beach volleyball has more strictor rules.
