I'm really short and i want a long board for surfing...??

what should i do ? i dont want a short board and i dont know what kind of board i need i am 5ft 80 lbs

Try looking for surf schools  in your area. Most provide boards and you will get a chance to try a couple different ones. A few lessons and some professional advice would help too.

The other alternative is to visit your local surf shop and see if they rent boards. Or if you have friends that surf, you can ask to try their boards out.

Having a board shaped for you can be expensive and wasteful considering you are not sure what you want. Try the lessons first and make sure that surfing is something you want to do before you make a big investment.

if your just learning, then a long board is perfect for you. you'll learn much quicker and start having fun much faster on it than trying to start out riding a short board

Yeah go for a couple lessons, try out different lengths. Don't settle for the length of the first board you ride. Try a few until you find one that you feel most comfortable on. You don't want to get one that's too long, becuase it may be easier to stand on but when you get to turning, you don't want a huge board you can't move. Find a board length you can progress with.

I would say since you are really small, you can get around an 8 foot board as a longboard. It will be stable and float you well.

sounds to me that you need to grow up. If you ask a question you are asking for it just like I did when I asked one. With what you wrote to me instead of a board you should save that money and buy yourself some class and with the change get a life.
