Is there a certain postal code that he needs to put on the letter.

If I'm receiving a letter from Canada -- what is the postal code or whatever it is called that specifies it to the US?

  1. your post is a bit confusing.     you are in the usa, and getting something from canada? all you need to do is give them your address it most go air mail note that on the letter and have them go to canada post to find the right postage to send a letter from there to here.

a postal code is like a us zip code. if you want to send something back have that person give the address and postal code. you can look that up and zip codes at

    www.usps.com for the usa

    and for canada

    http://www.canadapost.ca/tools/pcl/bin/a...

they can multiple postal codes for even one apt bldg. they have far more postal codes than we do. i used to live there.  thiers are a series of letter and numbers mixed together while the us is just numbers.

  2. There isn't a special code, just make sure it says United States/USA on it.
