I can USUALLY run a mile at around 7:45.. I know that's not the best time, but anyway, I had a broken arm and couldn't run for a really long time. I've been trying to get back into shape. I'm guessing my mile time won't be as good as before, because I haven't been able to do like any exercise! I'm trying to get my time down to a 7:30. I know that I should RUN, but I mean what kind of running should I do? Sprints, long distance? I'm not sure. Thanks for your help.

  1. hey you should do stretches before you run and start running around your block to warm up  that way you will be prepared hoped i help

  2. Lift weights. I do leg extensions with 130 pounds then squats with 180 pounds and followed up with 10:00 minutes on a tread mill. I do this 3 times a week and my mile time is 4:53

  3. i would run longer distances 3 times a week and do workouts that are sprints (400 600 800) 2 days a week... good luck!

  4. long distance my mile is 6:38 I'm 13

my cross country time is 10:12 1.5 miles

  5. If you have only one week I wouldn't recommend you do anything too new or different. Some 400m sets interspersed with active recovery at warm up pace over the next few days and then rest with some light jogging and stretching over the next few Days to ensure you are fully charged on race day. After your race you need to get into some longer runs to build endurance and some faster speed / power work a couple of time a week to improve speed.
