  1. Yup.  Once you are salary instead of hourly, they can work you all they want (or as little, but that rarely happens).

    Check with your HR section to see if there is some sort of comp time system.

  2. No you have to sign and agree doing over 48 hours-I had to do that aswell.He sounds like a bad employer,get another job.

  3. No - 80 hours is too much ... there's something you have to sign to agree to that and u can't be forced to (or dismissed cos u don't agree to).   Chat to your local CAB and they can advise of cheap lawyer if need be to help your case.

  4. Although they can do this I thought there was a law that only allowed for so many hours per week. If they make you work more one week they then have to give you time off the next to make it up.

    If all the employers could make people work all the hours god sends then you'd be too tired to work so I tk there has to be a law about hours that you can quote at them.

    Good luck!

  5. This link might help, but if you can't find the answer, they do have a phone number to call;

  6. you need to agree to that change. Seek advise at the local Citzens Advice Centre

  7. No, it's not legal.  All workers are entitled to the minimum hourly wage: the fact that your pay is called a "salary" makes no difference.

    Your hours cannot exceed the normal maximum of an average of (usually) 48 hours per week unless you sign your agreement in writing to do more.  Have a look at this website http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/E...
