Question:

I'm scared I have cervical cancer?

Earlier this year I found a lump on my vaginal wall. Not on the inside area, but the place where I have skin and hair. It was not very large, and I felt it wasn't attached to anything. It shrank though and just became a very tiny lump that I could hardly feel. I figured it was just a cyst. Now, it feels maybe a bit bigger (by not very much). It only hurts when I touch it a certain way or press on it very hard. Also, the front part of my crotch, just below my abdomen was really itchy at one point. It was just itchy all the time, but now it's stopped. I figured that it was just because I trimmed the hair in that area it was causing me to itch. But then I read the vaginal itching was a sign of cervical cancer, it made me wonder. I'm really worried, because I'm only 14 and I don't want to tell my mom about it because I'm scared she would make me go see a doctor to get it checked out and that's just so embarrassing. My mom is a nurse, and maybe I should tell her but I don't want to unless I think it's really serious. What do you think?

  1. Ok, your v****a is not on the OUSIDE - it's the inside part - like where you put your tampon.  That is your v****a - if you have a lump on the outside where you have hair, that is not a lump in your vaginal wall.  That would be a lump on your labia.  It could be a shaving bump or a pimple - the pimples I get down there can stay for a couple months if I don't pop them.  And they can be fairly painful.  Itching on the INSIDE could mean several things - including a yeast infection, a bacterial infection or cervical cancer.  I don't think you need to worry right now.  If you want to talk to your mom about it I doubt she would make you go to a doctor if she is a nurse - she will know it's not too serious.

    I think you are ok.

  2. sounds like a pimple due to an ingrowing hair. Don't worry and is very common.

  3. Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers that affect a woman's reproductive organs. Various strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted infection, play a role in causing most cases of cervical cancer.

When exposed to HPV, a woman's immune system typically prevents the virus from doing harm. In a small group of women, however, the virus survives for years before it eventually converts some cells on the surface of the cervix into cancer cells. Half of cervical cancer cases occur in women between ages 35 and 55.

You are not in the age group where cervical cancer is usually found.  Plus, if you aren't sexually active, then you've got practically no chance of having cervical cancer at your age.

If you're sexually active, go get a pap smear.

  4. i dont think is THAT serious. But its always better if you tell her, Since your mom is a nurse she will understand you, And she will know if it is dangerous or not. And it is not embarrasing.

  5. do you have your whole v***a shaved bare, if not then shave all of your pubic hair off so you can get a good look at that area if it itches scratch it, but not too hard or too much as this could cause reddening to that area and as far as cervical cancer go see your gyn

  6. can I see? It's probably nothing major but get it checked out!
