I am not aiding to my fear, I look up plane fatalities and by coincidence watched something on T.V a few nights ago about Japan's version of the Bermuda Triangle and how planes mysteriously go missing...Japan is where I'm going to from SFO, so 11 1/2 hours...Help! I dont even go on the third step of my ladder =[. I'm flying alone and my boyfriend thought it would be funny to book me a seat next to the window. Err

  1. i have flown to 47 countries, some flights are long, others short, as yours will be a long flight as a first timer, prepare yourself first. you dont say where you your flght will start and finish and if a night flight or not. my suggestion is to ask for an isle seat so you don`t feel hemmed in, wear comfortable clothes and shoes to feel more relaxed, then during your meal take a mild sedative (sleeping pill), after your meal use the bathroom, then settle down ready for a good nights rest. after you wake up its time for a meal then you will be almost there.remember millions more accidents happen with cars on our roads, than planes in the sky, you will be fine. well im off now to book my next flight to south africa from australia, i hope you will eventually enjoy flight travel as much as me.

  2. Dont worry your'll be fine, just try not to think about it, make sure you take stuff to do, iPod and stuff, Good Luck!!!

  3. The "Devil's Sea" that you're referring to is south of Tokyo.  You will surely fly in from the north (probably including parts of Alaska and Russia), so I wouldn't worry about it.

I've flown over the Pacific four times. I, too, have that bad habit of reading about airplane incidents before my trips, but it always works out.

  4. You should be fine. You'll probably sleep throughout the flight anyway. I used to be like that but now i fly like 10 times a year. A prayer always keeps me safe =). Bring a book, mags and your ipod and time will fly by. Not to mention the movies, if you watch like 3 or listen to their in-flight entertainment system you'll be in Japan in no time. Don't worry. The window seat is the best (Y) =) x
