  1. You should not mix percocet with medicines that contain acetaminophen, which is in a lot of pain relievers, fever reducers, etc...

Check the label on the tylenol and see if it contains acetaminophen. If it does not, then you should be able to take your percocet.

And they would not cause an overdose, they could just possibly interact the wrong way.

  2. Percocet has Tylenol in it.....waiting 6 hrs would be safer. It can be too much for your liver. You should probably not have more than 1000mg of acetaminophen in a 6 hr period, depending on your age/weight. Usually a regular strength Percocet has 325mg of acetaminophen, so whether you take one will depend on how much Tylenol you took.

You should call your surgeon's office right away for advice.

    Be careful.

  3. Acetaminophen is Tylenol.

If your Tylenol doesn't have acetaminophen in it, you don't have Tylenol.

Most Percocet has Tylenol in it already, its listed on the bottle as APAP. It might look something like:

    5 mg Oxycodone / 550 mg APAP

10-15 grams of acetaminophen is usually considered lethal.

A couple grams won't kill you, but it is pretty hard on your liver.
