I'm scared to take the battery out of my Psp. Can somebody give me an intelligent solution to my problem?

I've had the older version Psp for sometime now, and I've taken moderate care of it. I recently tried to cut it off, and it won't cut off. I'm scared to take the battery out, and put it back, because it might not cut back on. Does anybody have an idea solution to this?

if you take the battery out it will just shut it down.  it would be just like if you took a computer and unpluged it when it was being used.  it wont do anything to your psp.
