Okay so a lot of people say that the world's going to end in like 2012 or something like that.. Is that true?! :[ i'm scared.

they have said things like this time and time again, lets keep in mind that Nostradamus and many other prophecies will come after then, also the aztec calender ends every 50 years (the short one) and every 1000 years (the long one), it is all people trying to get attention.

Yeah they also said it was gonna end in 2000.. But it didn't happen. Don't listen to what people are saying. They've been predicting the end of the world for forever.

WTF!? "Is it true?" Yes, it's true, because some one knows every single thing that will ever happen and is always right.

Also, it doesn't signify the end of the world, just a new period. It could even mean a better, more peaceful, period of time.

It isn't the end of the world or the end of time!  The year 2012 is just the end of the Maya calendar, actually, the end of the Maya calendar-round, after which the Maya calendar begins from a new starting point.  The Maya used a solar calendar and a lunar calendar, and over time the cycles of each get out of synchronization.  It takes several thousand years for the two calendars to come round to where both are starting at their beginnings together at the same time.  

The Maya, and now world popular culture, place significance to this purely chronological event. People have a tendency to want to apply significance to things of unusual nature.  Thus, all sorts of silly things are being dreamed up to account for significance. The reasoning seems to be, "Well, it's an unusual and therefore important event, so we need to claim something unusually significant must be going to happen." So nut case media hogs are grandstanding, trying to gain attention and interest in themselves.  When the two calendars align, it'll be just a calm regular average day, just like most all others. Just wait and see, but don't place significance in it more than just alignment of two calendars.

Don't be scared. So what if it ends? Everything has to come to an end sooner or later. Some people lie, if you are going to believe everything that people say, you will always be scared.
