  1. i dont beleive the japanese have ever made a 2 cylinder trail bike.  all have been single cyl. and to get less than 300 lbs it would have to be 250cc or less.   you really need to be over 250cc to be highway capable.

  2. The old Honda 250 enduro Xls were in that category.

  3. I would go too

    www.cycletrader.com ;D

No bikes meet your definition of a dual purpose bike. Only the Kawasaki Ninja 250 comes close to the weight requirement.

I'd go for a Buell Blast... But it weighs in at 360 pounds, not all that much for a 500.

  5. I can think of several that ALMOST meet what you are looking for...

2007 or newer KTM 525EXC is street worthy for highway speeds, 245 lbs, 4 stroke, less than 10 years old but not Japanese nor 2 cylinder.

KTM 640 LC4 but likewise not Japanese nor 2 cylinder nor under 300 lbs.

Honda XR650R, Yamaha WR450, Suzuki DRZ400 ... with a dual sport kit and legalized but going to be slightly over 300 lbs and not a 2 cylinder.

as stated above there are a couple others but then they really are intended for dual sport or off road trails...

possibly one of the newer dual sports like the KLX250 or 450 that are relatively new dual sport models that might meet most of your requirements other than not being 2 cylinder...
