I'm short sighted and can't see the TV without my Specs but take them off when I'm on the PC which is a pain?

in the butt as I'm always taking them off and putting them on, so my Q is should I move my PC nearer to my TV or visa versa?

I know what you mean, I do the same thing when I'm reading a book.  I asked my optometrist but she just said it was fine to do it as long as I could read the book ok without them.  Maybe you should move the pc screen a bit further away so that you need to keep your specs on to see it properly?

It depends how old you are and whether you're presbyopic. If you're over 42ish you may have to remove your specs for close work, but if your under that age then simply keep your specs on for distance and VDU work. Changing the working distance of your computer indicates that you haven't really thought it through.

Bifocals are not suitable for the VDU because the segment line gets in the way. If you areolder than early to mid 40s then varifocals are the only answer.

Isn't it a pain?  My optometrist gave me Bifocals about 6 years ago for that same reason.  Now I can leave my glasses on for close up and far away.  I kept my old glasses for seeing far away for when I lay on the couch to watch TV.

Well, I have the same problem! I don't think that  its necessary that you do any big moving jobs. What I did was get that string/necklace thing and put it on the tips of my glasses and then just let them hang around my neck until I need to use them. But, if the TV isn't that far, I'm sure that a little moving wouldn't hurt anyone :). Wish you the Best of luck, and I hope i helped!

P.S. I also had my glasses tightened a bit so when I feel like watching TV instead of the PC, I just push them up on my head and they don't move at all =).
