  1. Get in front of a few people and act something out then let the crowd get larger and larger until you don't get shy anymore. Helped me get over my shyness.

  2. take acting classes

i used to be shy like that but when i took classes i got over it

  3. I understand what your going through I used to be painfully shy but my job required me to take a more assertive position in order to advance.

In my case shyness had a big connection to confidence in front of others. I put mind over matter and tried to do one act of spontaneity every day. This meant being the first to break an awkward silence, skipping in public if you feel like it, trying to be nice to strangers like holding doors for them, talking to store clerks etc.

It takes a little bit of effort and for the first few times I felt like I had done something terribly wrong although no error was immediately apparent. Gradually that feeling wore off and I became more confident in myself and more sure of my decisions.

A major factor in this was also taking a college course in public speaking. It forced me to put myself out there in front of others but the beauty of it was they were in the same boat as I was. It greatly improved my confidence and I learned by talking to the other students I was definitely not alone in being nervous while in the spotlight.

If you want it badly enough it can be achieved but the best thing to do is just talk to people. Friends, family, and even strangers can help you make the push to be more confident in front of people.

    Good luck!

  4. You have to overcome it.

If you want it so bad you'd do anything for it.

I would do anything to live my dreams.

  5. Here's what I suggest, practice and perform in front of other people. My mom wanted me to sing for an audition to an art school and I am as shy as they get. I didn't get in and I didn't do a really good job. Get used to performing in front of a lot of people.

  6. It doesn't matter! Many of the world's greatest actors are incredibly shy, and it does not hinder their careers at all (e.g Maggie Smith). Actors hide behind their characters. When you get up on the stage, it isn't you; it's your character. Go for it!!!! Don't let it hold you back - just believe in yourself. Good luck!
