I'm sick, any good hot drinks?

I'm sick for the first time in over 3 years, my throat kind of hurts and I was wondering if anyone knows of a good hot drink. I was hoping for some vegan hot chocolate :) or anything else. I don't typically like tea because it tastes gross, no matter how short or long you brew it. Any ideas please?

  1. any tea always yep!  Make sure to drink Juice too.  I always prefer apple! Feel better!

  2. Vegetable soup

    Hot coffee

    Hot cider

  3. heat up some soy milk in a pot and melt some vegan chocolate in it

  4. Hey.

Did you try soy, rice or almond milk? I did and they sucked but everybody says that the brand really matters. Well, I actually tasted the rice one twice, from different brands, gotta say the first one was better.

So I guess search a round for good soy milk brands. I don't remember the one I got but it sucked. I did try though chocolate with soy milk and it was REALLY delicious!

Anyway, get yourself some soy, rice or almond milk and make some hot chocolate with them.  :D

    Hope you get well soon!

  5. Go get some Emergen-C and drink it hot instead of cold. It's yummy! and has lots of vitamin C of course.

  6. Make a chicken soup. It's really good for you. I got better with that. Make sure you don't drink milk, hot chocolate, and cold stuff. It'll make you sicker!

  7. The Republic of Tea makes an infusion called Get Soothed.  It comes in a little purple canister and has "tea" bags--it's not really tea, but an infusion--that have soothing herbs.

But really, any hot herbal infusion will sooth a sore throat.  Drizzle some agave nectar in for sweetness.

  8. Hot lemonade is good for sore throats. It's easy to make, just microwave some water and add sugar and lemon juice.

There are many different kinds of teas too, just because you don't like one or a few kinds doesn't mean you would dislike them all. My favorite is called Raspberry Royale. Since I've been drinking it frequently, I can't believe how bad some of the other kinds I used to drink taste. Another good one is Lady Grey, which is similar to Earl Grey but lighter and a bit more fruity. Bergamot, a citrus used to flavor both Earl Grey and Lady Grey, is good for fighting colds.

  9. If you're vegan, try some apple cider.

  10. Hot Rum Toddy:

    2 oz rum

    1 tsp sugar

    5 1/2 oz boiling water

    Place sugar in coffee mug.

Fill 2/3 full with boiling water.

    Add rum and stir.

Garnish with a slice of lemon, dust with nutmeg, and serve.

Stir in a dropperful of liquid echinecea to boost your immune system and scare off whatever it is that's ailing ya.   (May I suggest you take a dropperful of echinecea about every 3 hours in juice or water after that for a day, and then down to 3 times a day for about a week, then get on a regiment of a daily dose 6 days on, one day off, or 3 weeks on, 1 week off.)

    Feel better soon...

  11. Hot green tea with honey or agave nectar (depending on your dietary preferences) works wonders.  If you really don't like tea, you can use a cider.
