I'm sick of blacks droning on about how bad they have it. In 2008, aren't there many opportunities for blacks?

What about people with disabilities, they can't get jobs because they either too old or the employer think they can't do the job.

I think that African Americans have as many opportunities now as white people.  In some instances, they have advantages over Caucasians due to our PC society and outdated, unfair hiring practices such as affirmative action and liberal wimps that favor hiring blacks because they fear being labeled a racist.  My Dad built his own company from the ground up and he always tries to hire the MOST QUALIFIED employees but he had to hire an African American engineer although he was the worst applicant.  His business is an engineering firm and he owns a construction company too; they aren't a lot of black engineering students, compared to other races, thus the applicant pool is sparse with African Americans.  What's funny is that his construction company staff consists of at least 50% black employees yet he still had to hire a black engineer that he has said is the one of the worst employees he has ever had but he can't fire him b/c of our liberal society and the outdated, unfair laws that promote reverse discrimination.

Listen, unless you're black you don't understand. We have oppurtunities but I think the problem is how unfair it is. We have to work twice as hard as a white person just to be noticed. I think so many black people have been confronted with racism in society that they just give up. That isn't the way to go but that's what they do. If other races would just try to see things from our point of view, where you know you can get turned down from a job for something you can't even control, like the color of your skin, then we would get along better.

Where are blacks "droning on"about how bad it is?  Most blacks I know are living their lives to the best of their abilities, and contrary to what you and apparently a lot of other people think, we don't sit around wringing our hands and whining.  I have seen so many people come on here to say that about black people, and yet they accuse us of whining?

Anyways there are black ppl around the world...duh!!! america is not the only place indr world....

opportunities are not equally thrown at us becuase the world never gives us a chance, ESPECIALLY america.

Yes they are many opportunities for black people but they are placed high up because they know that we will either a) give up trying to reach them or b) Not try at all because we are already seen as failures to society.

Yes, there are quite a few opportunities out there for African Americans. I'd say only a small portion take advantage of it. No offense to anyone, of course.
