  1. Medicine. Their world is everchanging.

  2. maybe outward bound? sounds like it'd be your type of thing

  3. Visit your local library. They have a book called Occupational Outlook Handbook written by the US government. The book lists all sorts of careers, explains what the career entails, what sort of education is require for it, tells what you can expect to earn, then lists professional organizations and places to contact for information. Looking through this book will give you exposure to many careers.

If that isn't to your taste, see if the library has (or can Inter-library loan) some of the career books that discuss various careers. There are lots of series with titles like "Careers for people who like to do X" or "Careers with X"  You can search your library's catalog under the heading "Vocational Guidance" to get a feel for what they have.

THEN go to the school guidance counselor and see if you can take an aptitude test to see what you are best at. That may help you narrow your interest further.

If you have truly eclectic taste, like I did at your age, it may not help. After scoring my test, my counselor threw up his hands and said, "Iris, you can do anything you want to do!" Gee... I already knew that! :)

I found librarianship perfect for me. I need to know a little bit about a lot of things to be able to help people find the answers to their questions.
