I'm so bad at running... How can I improve this month?

I'm 16 years old 5'10'' and 140 pounds... But I'm sooo frikn slow at running. I run a 5k in 24:30 probably... I want to get to like 22:00 (-) How can I improve this month?? I guess I'm just naturally a bad runner as I know people who can own me who never run at all?? I really want to improve this month I'm starting to run 2-3 miles 4 times a week and biking 1 time a week for 1:30 minutes (fairly hard). I do triathlons so I really think I need to improve my running first!

  1. you can easily improve by a few minutes on your 5k by lifting weights with you legs, running trails and hills, and sprints.

    Also try jumping rope it does wonders


  2. If you're serious about triathlons, don't run more than three times a week. Try running 2.5 miles twice a week with a 4 mile run once a week, biking 45 min twice a week and 90 min once. Do you swim at all yet? Talk to people at your local bike shop about what tri clubs there arte in your area and try out for XC this fall at school. 24:30 is nothing to be embarrassed about and with a decent coach you'll be under 22:00 in no time.
