I'm so confused should I wait to get pregnant till next year so that my hubby and I can go to Mexico?

My hubby and I didn't go to Mexico last year(December) all our family is over there. So, I had a miscarriage about 2 weeks ago, and I was told to wait 3 months, but I think it might be less. So, December is getting closer and my hubby and I are so confused. We both want to go to Mexico(him more) but if I were to get pregnant in November, then in December I would be 2 months, and to go to Mexico we take our car which is a 30 hour drive, stopping every 4 hours, and staying in a hotel for like 7 hours.

I just can't wait that long to get pregnant again :( I really want a baby, and if i wait till after we get back from Mexico, I feel like from here to January is too much. I really wish that I could get pregnant and be able to go to Mexico, what should I do?? What would be best?

  1. You can go to mexico if you are pregnant what would make you think otherwise?

  2. i'm sorry for your loss =/

... ok. i'm confused. were you told to wait 3 months to try and get pregnant again? if that's what you're saying, i'd wait cuz i'm guessing you were told that for a reason....

if you have the money and time off, i think you should go to mexico. being pregnant, not being pregnant, or tying to get pregnant... i don't think any of that will interfere with your trip, nor your trip with it... besides... you might try and not get pregnant as soon as you think and if you don't go, you'll basically be missing out on visiting your family for no reason.

  3. Why can't you go to Mexico AND be pregnant?

  4. Get pregnant if you want to, you are allowed to travel.

  5. Not sure I understand why you couldn't go to Mexico just cuz your pregnant... 2 months pregnant isn't far... you may have morning sickness & stuff... but still not sure why there is a big issue.  Try to get pregnant when the Dr says you can & go to Mexico... you can do both... don't need to choose.

  6. Call your doctor.

If you were told to wait 3 months before trying to get pregnant, DO SO. The doc didn't make it up for no reason. You need time to completely heal and get your hormones back to normal or risk losing another.

  7. OK

    That is a dilemma :)

so why don't u wait and try in december for the baby

that way you will not know if you are pregnant or not

plus i do not think that the the trip will affect you at all

  8. It would be best if you waited and started trying while you were there.  I have to wait till march when my husband and I go to mexico to start trying!!  thats a long way away!!  but think about this, if you were to get pregnant and you were in the middle of nowhere in a remote small village in mexico when you started having complication, if god forbid anything were to happen, do you think it would be safe?  I think it would be best to wait and start trying when you are there on vacation!!  then it will be more fun!!

  9. It's up to you. Which is more important to you:

    1.) Possibly getting pregnant or

    2.) Visiting your families

You have to base your decision on that. Your doctor is absolutely right, you SHOULD wait 3 months before "trying" again. But that doesn't mean you'll get pregnant right away. It could take you months. And why not just fly? With the cost of gas these days, it's probably cheaper to have a 5 hour flight than a 30 hour drive. Personally, I wouldn't go to Mexico if I was pregnant b/c I've heard horror stories about people getting worms and other parasites from food there. They don't have the same health standards as we do in the U.S....

  10. Why would being pregnant prevent you from going to Mexico? I'm hoping to be pregnant by the end of the year and plan on going to Puerto Rico over Xmas.

  11. Wait a little longer to get pregnant.  Don't rush your body because then it could lead to another miscarriage.  Maybe your body is waiting to get pregnant while in Mexico.  That would make a special memory knowing when you conceived.

  12. I really think you should give yourself this time to visit your family. It could be a couple years before you have the chance to go again, between trying to get pregnant, and the pregnancy itself and then having a baby who is not ready to make the trip for several months. Look at the trip as helpful towards getting pregnant. You get to take a time-out, relax and have fun on a vacation to see your family. Would the timing work out to make it a Fertility Vacation in Mexico and try to get pregnant while on that trip? That would seem perfect if so.

Regarding traveling while pregnant: I went out of state to visit family while 2 months pregnant but we flew on a plane and it was a short flight. I would not drive long distance to Mexico while 2 months pregnant. I'm not particularly overly cautious and I wouldn't do that. Road trips are great, I love them. But do it when you can enjoy it not feel worried and anxious the entire time. Another thing, if you drove you'd be stopping way more often than every 4 hours! You need to stay very well hydrated while pregnant so you pee a lot even before your uterus starts growing and pressing on the bladder.
