off of Craigslist or shell out $250-$300 dollars more on the brand new one that I fell in love with at the store. I'm afraid I might get screwed buying it off someone on craigslist or chance it since its my first guitar or buy the one I really want? Thats fits me like a glove?

  1. depends on your budget

sorry man, i aint a guitar person

  2. i wouldn't buy anything off of craigslist alot off people will rob you blind buy the one you love that your only gonna use for 2 weeks out of your whole life

  3. same here

  4. Get a guitar that isn't really expensive and easily customizable (Adding parts and special effects.) that way you can experiment before going on to the guitars that cost big $$$.

  5. you should buy an acoustic guitar cuz those r the ones u should learn on, its too hard to learn on an electric. i'd spend money to get a nicer acoustic, in about the same 250 - 300 price range. TRUST ME, it will be worth it!

  6. If its your first guitar, and you don't know how to play. You probably shouldn't be getting what i assume to be a electric guitar based on the price range. You should start out with a acoustic guitar as they are way easier to learn with. Then get a electric once you get the hang of things.

  7. Go with what you feel, get the more expensive one.  If playing guitar is something you really want to do then get the one you want or you won't be happy later.

  8. Buy a cheap one. Play it for a while, see if youa er actually going to stick with it. If you do stick with it (a few months to a few years), then go buy one that you really like.

You are going to suck at first, and for a long time. It is not something most people just pick up. Takes hours of practice, daily. But go cheap and used. You might even be able to get a decent used one cheaper than a brand new "cheap" one.

I would also highly recommend taking lessons. Stick with it.

  9. don't do Craig's list, go to a store you can always return it there if you have any problems with it. And you don't need an expensive guitar starting out. My first guitar was an old Conn my uncle gave me. He played onstage with ZZ -Top a couple of times too.

  10. get the cheap, and when your really good buy an awsome one, guitar center is cheap or try amazon and look for packs that come with multiple things like the amp and headphones and picks yada yada gl.

  11. go with the cheaper one until you see if that is realy what you want to do, before making the big investment.

some music stores have lease to purchase, but don't sink a lot of money into just yet. unless of course you really love it already.

  12. good chance you want stick with it. so i'd say go cheap.
