Hi, I live in Greece, and I'm 15. I really want to make money to buy my best friend a ticket for December. Anyway, that's not the point - I need to make at least 700 dollars. I know it sounds kind of hopeless but I REALLY want to. My friend has credit (300$) on Orbitz that expires in February and December is the only time he's got break! Any way, so I live in Greece but I don't speak any greek; I speak english and french. I was thinking maybe a short order cook type thing (ex: Starbucks, Mc.Donalds) I've already asked my parents if I can work for them, and they couldn't really pay me much anyway nor have they given me a direct answer/response.

Any suggestions of jobs I could pursue here?

  1. Don't listen to the c**p spam answers you'll get here.

Your best bet is to ask people you know in Greece that speak English for advice. Also, talk to your best friend about things s/he can do to help with the cost. Good luck! I hope you achieve your goal!

  2. First of all i think that you can't work when you are less than 16yo.

Anyway there aren't many thinks you can do since you don't speak any greek at all. What the others proposed, working somewhere with tourists is a good idea, try some shops or restaurants located in plaka where 80%++ of the customers are foreign.

Also try selling stuff on ebay but i dont think you'll make 700usd

  3. I don't know what the minimum working age is in Greece, so clear that up first.  If you're eligible to work, try for something that attracts a lot of tourists.  Not all tourists speak Greek, and talking to someone who speaks their language would be helpful.

If you're going to be living in Greece for an extended period of time, start learning the language.
