I've been trying to decide what I want to do for about a week now. I have 2-29 gallon tall tanks for my 2 baby beardies (don't freak, they'll get bigger tanks as they age). They currently have no UVB lights (I have the bulbs-ReptiSun 10.0, but no fixtures for them, lol). I have fixtures that hold only incadescent bulbs.

Which one out of these 2 should I get?

One is vertical mounting and the other is sideways mounting. Both of them seem to be really good products, but there's a big price difference. What do you experts suggest?

  1. I would get the 2nd one...because it has a kit and kits really help if something goes wrong...take it from some one who has 9 pets....good luck

  2. I would try to return the ones you have and get the combo hood. That way if you need to add addtional heat besides the basking and the flo, you can add incandescent lights. It also makes it easier to swtich between night & day cycles having all the bulbs in one light strip. I have the same effect with using two strip lights, one flo one inc, this does it in one. Just a word of caution, don't use the new coiled compact flo lights, they are not good for reptiles, even the new UV for reptiles, they can hurt the lizard's eyes.

  3. I have had a beardie and an iguana and they do just fine with the cheap little lights you put right on top of the cage
