I'm so scared of dying?

Question

I know you should focus on what we have while we have it, but im so scared. What happens? there is no answer. I have been reading online about the bible and not to have some sort of a connection with psychics mediums etc...i have tickets to go see psychic sally morgan with my sis and dont want to go now. whats a good excuse for not going.......and blowing 60 quid of her money!?!?! im scared of not being good enough, i really dont want to go to h**l. and i respect that this may not be everyones beliefs, i apologize for that.

Oh SNAP! I agree with bill on so many levels except: Jesus and the bible. Forget about those 2 key words. This is actually the most exciting week of my life, believe it or not the 2 of you are almost there! All you had to do was ask questions. Now you have to look at it:  Jesus/You/Me and the bible/human history/behavior, thats all I can say...

Fear of death is very common and you'll have to work on that.  Faith not works will help with that fear because nobody is "good enough" for heaven!

As far as the psychic I would avoid it.  You don't feel comfortable and too bad about the money...it's just money.  Give your sister time if she wants to go with someone else so she can ask them.  The psychic will not help with this fear and may make it worse.

Well, your interested in spiritual things but I would turn toward your creator.  You can attend church for free!  The psychic wants $$$$$.

Tell her that your beliefs are different than hers. Express that you're sorry about the money, but your principles are more important. You're right, the Bible states that witchcraft, sorcerers, and astrologers are all from the devil. I hope you have the strength to go with your convictions, though it won't be easy. Spiritual battles are never easy. God is testing you. Will you pass or fail?

Well, in the Christian faith, the main condition of going to heaven is based on your faith in Jesus Christ as the source of your spiritual salvation and redeemer of your sin. If you confess your sins to Jesus and ask his forgiveness for them, you will be allowed into heaven by his sacrifice.

Or at least, that's what the Bible will tell you.

As far as anyone can tell from what's not written in an ancient, convoluted manuscript, there is no afterlife that we can know anything about and so it is best to assume that this is the only life you have. It is NOT pointless. You make your own purpose in this world. Do not fear death, because it is inevitable. Instead fear that you have not done everything to enjoy the life you have been given.

In dealing with death, if we are to be wise, we must deal with religion, so although I don't usually get into the heavy parts of Christianity on this forum, I will here because of your need.

First, get squared away on your beliefs.  None of us is good enough for heaven.  Christ died on the cross to take care of that.  Read the New Testament (Gospel of John and Ephesians or Philippians).  You qualify for heaven (and stay out of h**l) by believing is Jesus Christ and what He did for you and me.  Simple as that. This is very important! (If you wish, simply pray, "Jesus I want to trust in You for my salvation. Help me find out what to do.")

To get some data of death experiences and what lies beyond the moment of death, go here--just don't believe necessarily in all the theology these type of websites try to teach, but pay attention to the experiences people have had after death and then came back to tell about it, and how so very many of them, coming from different countries and cultures are so similar!

On a personal note. A couple of years ago I faced the possibility of life-threatening cancer.  Now it wound up that I didn't have it, but it got me to thinking about death, so I wrote myself a letter on what I believe and included why I feel the near-death recorded experiences have validity.  It helped me, because I knew I had done just about everything I could to prepare.  The key is, don't just sit around. Figure out what you believe.

P.S. A very good reason not to go to mediums is that it is strictly forbidden in the Bible: Deuteronomy 18:9-13.  Doing such things is detestable to God, and therefore a very bad and dangerous activity.

Fear of death is common, and if you are a christian and believe in both heaven and h**l then unless you have made a terrible sin there is no reason worry about going to h**l, but if you feel so strongly on the matter then why not confess your sins at your church? and about you not wanting to go see "psychic sally morgan" why not explain your feelings to your sister and get some one else to go along with her so not to waist the money!

It's ok honey.. we r all gonna die, we can't live forever cause there is a better place after life just if we followed the right religion which is Islam (I believe).

but now don't think about death and stuff cause u r way too young to think about that.. just have fun and live every moment in your life... and dont waste ur time and spend your life waiting.

Death can be a scary thing. I've been prone to cancer once in my life where death was knocking at my door. I'm a christian and what helps me in the concept of death is Jesus. He died for all of us so it doesn't matter if we're good or bad, as long as you believe in Jesus's free gift of salvation, you'll go to heaven.
