  1. First - don't worry too much about the petrol smell.  When I was pregnant with my daughter I adored the smell of petrol - so much so I had to really work at stopping myself sniffing it direct from a can!!  I used to go and fill up with petrol in little bits (i.e. instead of putting £10 in I'd put 2 lot's of £5) just so I could smell it.  I asked my midwife and she said not to worry as long as I didn't directly inhale it or drink it!!!

As for the hard stomach - that doesn't happen for a little while anyway.

If your feeling very anxious - get down to see your GP and get your mind put at ease.

    Hope everything goes well.

  2. You do not need to be worried. A few seconds/minutes of smelling petrol fumes will not hurt you or the baby. And by 13 weeks the baby's heart is already well formed and functioning.

The uterus does not rise out of the pelvic cavity until you are 12 weeks along. You cannot feel your uterus or baby (externally) until you are 13 weeks along . Even at 13 weeks only your doctor could find the baby/womb.  Your stomach will not get hard for many more weeks yet.

So don't worry. Sounds like you are having a great pregnancy (no symptoms) and are doing a good job of taking care of yourself.

      Good luck!

  3. Just relax my friend, there's nothing to worry about.TAKE IT EASY.Take care of you and the ones you love.

    Take care x x x x

  4. They always say the slightest of worries see a doctor... so not that i think there is anything wrong... i just think if you are worried go and speak to soembody!

It is normal to worry though everybody does.

Just calm yoruself down do something soothing and speak to someone official.

    Good luck G x

  5. The smell of petrol a couple of times (unless in excess and often) will not harm your baby.

People develop at different rates. 13wks you are still early on. If this is your first you may not show for a bit yet. Even so, as I said people develop at different rates. If you are still concerned call your midwife or visit your GP.

  6. Sometimes pregnancy symptoms subside once in the second trimester, I was always worried about not feeling pregnant too.  And like others said the pregnancy is still low, the fetus is actually still very small maybe 2 -3 inches.  It definately did not affect the heart.  The heart has been pumping and circulating blood since week 5 when it was fully formed.

  7. You feel like your not pregnant? And you think this is because of in haling petrol fumes?

If thast what you are thinking then relax!! The only way that petrol fumes would effect you would be if you were inhaling them daily and for hours at a time xx

  8. Oh for God's sakes you are being idiotic!

  9. Get him to take that c**p out of the car!!!! Avoid all poisons and their smells.

    Go to the doctor immediaately.

And don't listen to some of these insensitive ignorant people online.

It is your job to protect your baby. You are doing the right thing by being concerned. People that aren't concerned have their you know whats up their you know what!

  10. The smell of petrol won't do the baby any harm so don't worry.  If you are only 13 weeks then it is very unlikely you would "feel" pregnant apart from maybe some sickness. Your belly won't get hard until about 5 or 6 months when it is much bigger. Calm down!  You and your baby are fine.  Good luck with the scan!

  11. I still don't feel or even look pregnant and I'm 23 weeks. The only time I actually feel pregnant is when I can feel my baby kick and when she moves but apart from that I just feel normal. I've only been feeling her kick for 2 weeks aswell, the further on you get the more you will start to feel pregnant.

Don't worry and look forward to your scan and that should put your mind at ease

    Good Luck
