  1. Depending on the course, you might just fit right in.

Nerds and geeks are prevalent in college.

And, if you're in residence, the other students will see to it that you get involved.

You lose your social backwardness by participating in social activities - instead of thinking of yourself as inept, look at this as a learning opportunity.

  2. wut do u mean socially backward

    ou dont talk?

well its always good to be social and thats how you make new friends

  3. "Socially backward" is very vague. You could be socially backward in that you have a hard time talking to people, or in the sense that your parents put a chastity belt on you and threw away the key because they don't want to be grandparents, like mine did.

I'm socially backward in the sense that I can be a blast to be around, but too often second-guess myself when I want to say something or make a joke out of fear of rejection. Most "socially inept" people are like that, actually, and everyone is accepted somewhere. That's the important thing to remember.

In universities (but not always in community colleges, I've come to find out), there is a vast variation of types of people. There will be lots of people in college that believe themselves to be "socially backward" as well.

Be yourself. As long as you aren't a frightening person, you'll find people who accept you. Join the organizations you're interested in. College is just a time to have fun before... the Nightmare sets in.
