I want the golf community to help me on a simple but not so simple question. What shoes would be the most comfortable to walk in for many, many rounds. I don't care what they look like, or what they cost, I just want them to be comfortable. Thanks, and FORE!!!!!!

  1. Ive always liked Foot Joys, the Dry Joy or the Gel Fusion are really good (not sure if they make the GelFusion anymore.)  I got a pair of the Nike SP-6's last year and they are the best golf shoes Ive ever worn, which is suprising because Nike sucks when it comes to golf equipment.  Apparently they still know how to make shoes though.

  2. It all depends.  Some shoes fit some people's feet better than others.  Just because all the pro's use FootJoy's on TV doesn't mean they're the best shoes on the market.  Most of those guys & gals are paid to wear the shoes, and they are also put in their commercials and magazine ads which gives them good exposure as a professional golfer.  Most of the higher end FootJoys, such as a $300 Classics Tour/Classics Dry-Premiere are beautiful, but extremely uncomfortable for the most part.  Adidas & Nike are pretty comfortable, but some don't like their ultra modern appearance (if you watch golf, think Sergio Garcia).  Ecco's are your best bet, but their lowest end shoe retails for $140, and they go up to $400.  Your best bet would be to go somewhere and try on a few different pair in a few different brands - Ecco, Nike, FJ, Callaway, Adidas, or Bite Golf.  Depending on where you play your golf, you may also want to pay attention to the waterproof warranty on the shoes as well.  Remember, most golf store employees are only looking to make a quick sale - well, at least they're trained to do whatever it takes to get the sale.  And when a new model is about to come out, some higher end models from the year before can be discounted up to 50% off.  Good luck in your shopping.

  3. Good, old fashion, Foot Joys.

  4. What the heck is golf season - oh sorry, I live in Florida and played twice this week.

  5. Most of the good solid reputation quality shoes should be fine, although you may want to go with a synthetic because theey are lighter, although they don't last as long.  One thing I can strongly recommend is that you get more than one pair- alternating pairs will make both pairs last a lot longer, and be better for your feet.

  6. I've never taken a pair of FootJoys out of the box that didn't feel as though they had already been broken in. They're just that comfortable. And their warranty is second to none.

The problem I found with the ECCO golf shoes was their fitting system. Where we can buy a 9 1/2 Wide, being that they're made in Europe the sizing numbers are different. A size 43 will fit an American size 9 to 10. Just not as accurate as the American fitting system.

  7. The best way to figure out what is the most comfy is by watching the pro's on TV.  What are they wearing?  Mostly Footjoy and Adidas.  Why, these guys live in those things and do you think they would wear something not comfortable?

  8. I bought Nike for a while.  I found a pair a Footjoys on sale and the right color.  The were a lot more comfortable and durable than the Nike shoe.  I would go with Footjoys.

  9. Eaton

  10. You really should try a bunch on and see how they fit first.  I really like the Puma golf shoes and they are very comfortable but may not fit your feet as well.  The Callaway's seem to run wide.  I have heard great things about Bite and Ecco.  The Adidas University shoe is also very comfortable.

  11. Most people ride in carts so they are not walking too much.  I walk the majority of the time so I wear golf sandals.  Bite makes sandals so try them out.  I have a pair of Nike golf sandals, but you can't find them anywhere.  They're old.

  12. You get what you pay for in terms of durability and comfort. During the summer I walk 3-5 rounds a week. My favorite shoes are Eccos. Second favorite are the higher-end Footjoys.

Cheaper shoes tend to wear out more quickly and you end up buying two or three pair, so the cost ends up the same.

  13. I have foot joys and Nike.  I would recommend both.  One of my friends has Ecco and loves them.  Playing 3 times a week means you should have more than 1 pair.  You should  rotate them to allow them to dry.  Also invest in a cedar shoe tree to absorb moisture, this will also make  the shoes last longer.
