Palin was born in Idaho and raised in Alaska. In 1984, she was the runner-up in the Miss Alaska pageant, receiving a scholarship that allowed her to attend the University of Idaho, where she received a degree in journalism. After working as a sports reporter at an Anchorage television station, Palin served two terms on the Wasilla, Alaska, City Council from 1992 to 1996, was elected mayor of Wasilla (population 5,470 in 2000) in 1996, and ran unsuccessfully for Lieutenant Governor in 2002.

Palin was elected Governor of Alaska in 2006 on the theme of governmental reform, defeating incumbent governor Frank Murkowski in the Republican primary and former Democratic Alaskan governor Tony Knowles in the general election. She gained attention for publicizing ethical violations by state Republican Party leaders.[2]

Seriously?? We are ok with this nice enough woman who has led the "vast and sparsely populated state of Alaska" for a mere 2 years and 2 years before that leading a city??

Really? If MCcain dies in office, this is who we want making all Presidential decisions???

  1. She's youthful, pretty, Christian, and a woman. She's exactly what they want. Unfortunately, a lot Hillary supporters think it's more important that she's a woman than that she's anti-Roe. *sigh*

  2. Yeah isn't she great? Just what America needs right now. Change we can believe in. We are tired of the same old crooks and the same old politics of the past. Joe Biden for example, in the Senate since Betsy Ross sewed the flag. What kind of change is that?

We conservatives who don't much like John McCain's liberalism are very excited by Sarah Palin. Way to go.

Thanks for the bio, getting the word out about Governor Palin is important.

  3. Gov. Palin is the very best choice!

First, it's refreshing to see someone on the ticket who's an ordinary woman who worked her own way up, not just the president's wife.   She shares the same views as ordinary people too, such as pride in our country, not the extreme left beliefs of the usual feminist radical talking heads.

Her administration is squeaky clean.  She's not beholden to the party establishment.  She has shown she can stand up to and defeat powerful entrenched Democrats.

I'm impressed that, like me, she cares about her appearance, differing from the bra-burning frumpiness of some prominent women.

She's older than JFK when he became president and, if she didn't serve in the Senate first, perhaps it's because she wasn't born with a silver spoon in her mouth.  I'm confident she can take over.

If you're hesitating for fear that she lacks experience, I certainly hope you don't plan on voting for that unknown fellow Barack Obama (that's his name, isn't it?).  She has almost exactly the same age and experience as he.  The major difference between this man Obama and Gov. Palin, aside from gender, is that Palin's chief connection with war is that her son is to fight for our country in Iraq.  Obama's is his close friend William Ayers, who fought against our country by attacking the Capitol.

  4. Don't forget folks that the primary job of the VP is that of president of the senate. It will be interesting to see how a crusading, no nonsense individual, can corral the insatiable appetite of the career money spenders that are seated there.

    Only time will tell.

  5. wow i am very excited i smell change in the air a republican that works for the little man and not an extremist republican that is bought and paid for by corporations that could care less. a woman is what america needs, a change that's real a working class dog that been where I'm at week after week worrying when how to survive on my pay not some broken promises that the Dem's want to give.

  6. Ultimately, a governor will ALWAYS have more experience right out of the box than a senator. They run all the aspects of government that a President does. Heck, she already has more government experience than Obama who was only a Senator for a few months before he dedicated himself fully to running for President. So yeah, she's a great choice. And if you are REALLY looking for change, you should be voting for her. Palin totally revamped the governmental process in Alaska which was riddled with corruption when she took over.

  7. First we get McNothing now we get McPlain.

  8. i believe that Sarah Palin will be a great leader! She is pro-life and pro-gun!!! At least she has the guts to stand for what is right!

  9. McCain is going to feel sorry after he chose Bush's way. Anyway McCain said he would choose Sarah Palin as his vice president. I don't think that McCain would win.

So yes his vice president would be Sarah Palin.

  10. Yes - and Palin is a Splendid choice and she will make a Wonderful VP (and future President)! It just goes to show that McCain is a true maverick, reformer & genius who picks likewise!

    Palin:

    * has the record of the most beloved Governor in the US by her state (Alaska)

    * is a vocal, huge proponent of American energy independence & Alaskan drilling

    * has actually been leading people for the past several while Obama & Biden NEVER have led anyone!

    * shelved her state's pork-laden Bridge to Nowhere that McCain has ridiculed on the trail

    * will join McCain in fighting hard against earmarks

    * is a huge fighter of corruption in Alaska

    * is about as far outside the Beltway as you can get

    * ran on the agenda of stopping wasteful gov't spending

    * is the mother of 5 kids!

    * has had her son deploy to Iraq

    * is for a strong US defense

    * is a widely acknowledged rising star in the Republican party

    * is an ice fisherman

    * is a moose hunter

    * is a small business owner and a lifetime NRA member

All in all, she's a truly fine leader, citizen and patriot - who truly represents Americana (Motherhood & Apple pie)!

    McCain/Palin '08

    Peace

  11. She will be fine under those circumstances but I think that you are not giving McCain credit for his abilities and condition. I do know that the new Dem slogan will not be "change"  but "Oh S---, What are we going to do now?" Besides, experience didn't matter when it came to Obama but it matters now?

  12. I think she's awesome. She's fighting the federal government for not letting them drill for oil up there. Why not drill in ANWAR? There's nothing there. No trees it's not pretty. And we need oil. And she's pro Life and pro second amendment. I like her.

  13. I believe it will ultimately be the Republicans who are sorry.
