How can I get onto the message board where people post their new definitions for the Uxbridge English dictionary.

Have been around the website but can't get into this!

  1. Here's the website link - they might have some details on there. However, it says it's 'off-air' at the moment - perhaps it's open again when the programme is broadcast.


  2. Do you mean "Oxbridge" or "Oxford" or "Uxbridge"?  Oxbridge means Oxford and Cambridge, while Uxbridge is a stop in zone 6 on the London underground

  3. "The Uxbridge Dictionary" is a compilation of silly, but often very funny "daffy-nitions" from a very popular British comedy show on BBC4 called "Sorry, I Haven't a Clue."

    Examples:

    Malady - Bit like a duck

    Argy Bargy - Owner of a narrow boat in Buenos Aires

    Snuff Box - A coffin

    Winnebago - a horse with a bad back

    I think this is the link. If it doesn't work, go to the BBC site and click "Questions, Questions..." on the right side of the home page. I saw several messages titled, "new definition," or something similar. That sounds like what you're looking for.
