Lets say your Tuition is 12k and your government grants total up to 14K, Can You keep the extra 2K ??

as far as i know you can.  it was awarded to you.  i would double check with your school.

keep in mind you need to pay for books too!

It depends on the criteria of your grant... but many grants cover more than just tuition.  They also provide money for books, housing, and fees.  An extra 2k is nothing to get excited about in college.
